Section Takeoff, Blue Angels Style 2015

Blue Anglels #5 and #6 perform a section takeoff. #5, Lcdr Mark Tedrow, the Lead Solo, will climb at a 45 degree angle to 500 feet, with the landing gear still extended and perform the Dirty Roll on Takeoff. #6, Lt. Ryan Chamberlain the Opposing Solo, will perform a Low Transition by retracting his landing gear and continuing in level flight, accelerating just feet off the runway, until reaching the end, pulling the stick back into his lap and climbing like a rocket.

Photographed on Sunday afternoon at the 2015 NAS Oceana Airshow.
